For each category (The Feels, The Heels, The Thrills), dancers will participate in the Prelim Round where we will do eliminations that get us down to 6 finalists in EACH category.

Dancers who arrive after the Prelims have started will not be seen, so arrive early!


VENUE INFO BELOW

Wood sprung dance floor appropriate for barefoot, socks, sneakers, heels (please make sure no metal is exposed on tip of heel), etc. All tap dancers must bring your own board.


Bring proof of vaccination if you'd like to be in the building without a mask! Without proof of vaccination, mask must be worn. There will be ventilation in the building! Protocol will adjust according to any changes in city guidelines between now and the event.

For The Feels, songs are moody and you could dance in socks, barefoot, sneakers, etc. Anything but a heel!

You may do any dance style that feels good to do to slower songs and can convey emotion. Past styles have included contemporary, street styles, tap, etc.

Songs are sensual and vary in tempo. Must wear heels (shoe style can be of your choosing, but must be above 2 inches). Open to everyone!

This category is NOT about tricks and hair whips. You will be given prompts just like the other categories, and the artistic value of how you interpret the prompt in heels is what the judges are looking for. If you ignore the prompt and just go for flashiness, you will be scored low!

    Competitors: 14+ years old. Audience: no age limit

  • CAN I WEAR HEELS IN ANOTHER CATEGORY?
    Heels are only to be worn in the Heels category.


  • I'M NOT SURE IF I'M GOOD ENOUGH TO COMPETE! 
    Scroll up and sign up for the FREESTYLE ROULETTE CLASS where Galen will do a class so you can test it out in a safe environment first (and leave feeling super inspired!). Be aware that if you want to compete, there are a limited number of spots available to register for each category- registration may sell out before the class happens! You can always waitlist at the door if you decide to compete after taking the class.
